Mortgage-World.com is a family-owned licensed mortgage broker founded in 2017 and based in Ridgefield, New Jersey. Our loan officers arrange purchase and refinance loans in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Florida, including FHA, VA, USDA, conventional, jumbo, and Non-QM programs. On conventional loans we can usually issue a loan approval in less than an hour, and we typically reach a clear to close in about 12 days.

Chris Luis was born and raised in Bergen County and has been a licensed loan officer since 2002. In 2017 he opened Mortgage-World.com as a family-owned brokerage, designed to make the home loan process faster, cheaper, and easier. Today the company is a team of licensed loan officers across New Jersey, Connecticut, and Florida — still family owned, still run out of one office in Ridgefield.

How fast can I get a loan approval?
On conventional loans we can usually issue a loan approval in less than an hour once your application is in. The approval lists the address of the property you are making an offer on, which is what makes it useful to a seller.
How long does it take to close?
We usually have a clear to close in about 12 days. The exact timeline depends on the appraisal, the title work, and how quickly documents come back, but a two-week closing is normal for us rather than exceptional.
What credit score do I need to buy a home?
It depends on the program. Conventional loans generally start at a 620 score with 3% down. FHA goes lower. Jumbo loans require a 660 minimum. Investment and alternative-documentation programs have their own tiers. Our credit score guide breaks down each one.
What is the difference between a mortgage broker and a bank?
A bank offers you its own loan products. A licensed mortgage broker shops the market on your behalf and places your loan where it fits best — which matters most when your file is not a plain-vanilla W-2 borrower with a 780 score.
Can I get a mortgage if I am self-employed?
Yes. If your tax returns understate your income, we can qualify you on 12 to 24 months of bank deposits with a bank statement loan, on 1099 income, or through the no income verification mortgage program, which uses credit, reserves, and the property instead of income documents.
How much do I need for a down payment?
Conventional loans start at 3% down for qualified buyers, and down payment assistance programs can cover part of it. VA and USDA loans allow zero down for borrowers who qualify.
